Bill Pettit / Oil Painter…Landscapes & Portraits

We asked Bill to tell us a bit about his creativity, his marvelous techniques, and how they impacted his work.

This is what he wrote:

“I did my first landscape in kindergarten and now my paintings have been compared to the Hudson River School, but really I say I paint lies to expose inner truths.

I don’t fall within the perception of what the public thinks an artist is. I rarely show, I never enter exhibitions I am not represented by a gallery. I paint what I want and sell to whoever stumbles on me. Everything sells before I'm done creating it.”
